AAC ACTIVITIES: AAC works to actively preserve the environment through routine community clean-up days and promote sustainable food security through school and community gardens.
We treasures the rich, all natural environment and soil found across the continent, and hopes to educate the youth on its value.
When we engage with a community, one of our primary goals is to reduce waste and actively promote environmental preservation through routine community clean-up initiatives.
In order to promote sustainable food security, AAC works directly with the schools and communities to setup sustainable gardens. We promote a model which directly invokes the students, teachers, parents, and community members as collective, active participants in the care and feed of their own gardens. Burkina Faso's public schools have not received any funding to support school canteens in the last two years, and so the harvests from these gardens have become the primary source for the schools' midday meals.
